Katong House proudly features a hand painted mural, extending across two walls and the counter-front created by local artist and designer, Emile Kobayashi.  

The artwork depicts an amalgamation of iconic Singaporean elements, from past and present.

 

While the larger aspects of the piece set the scene, the real objective of the painting is to tap into the heart of the culture, invoking warmth and nostalgia to Singaporeans or avid travellers, and its hidden detail placed throughout to engage viewers and spark excitement.
